Goals
All Star Academy is committed to developing competitive teams not simply recruiting them. Our player's benefit from a program designed to make them the best individual player, the best team player, and the best person that they can be. As our teams progress in competence, we introduce more competitive game strategies and recruitment, but we do not change our fundamental goals and strategies.
- To develop players as individuals.
- To develop players as a team.
- To develop teams to be competitive.
Strategies
- Developing individual players
- As the first step in team development, we use an advanced level of baseball knowledge and training techniques with individual assessments to set goals and measure effectiveness in our program. We strive to produce stronger, faster, well-conditioned athletes. We also work to develop the personal skills of confidence, respect, integrity, and responsibility. We help our players deal with the frustration, loss and failure that can be a part of baseball; and we celebrate the personal growth that we use to measure success.
- Developing players as a team
- Our coaches achieve team chemistry by relating to our players on a very personal level and showing dedication to every individual on our roster. We work to establish a tight knit group of players that compliment each other on and off the field.
- Developing teams to be competitive
- Once a team is ready to make the transition to being competitive, new players will be recruited only if they improve the team's ability to compete. Starting line ups will include the strongest players and playing time will not be guaranteed. Some veteran players may find themselves "bench players" which is a difficult but important role for the team to be successful. We believe that bench players are a vital part of the team and encourage every player to work themselves into the line up. Winning, for us, will only come as a result of developing players as individuals and as a team with a stable roster.
